Description

The weave series is modern yet classic, bold yet modest and serves as a great example of scandinavian contemporary high quality design.

The expressive cabinet weave is made of solid birchwood and laminated birchveneér. Inspired by the most common kind of wood and weed weaving the Weave sideboard represents an enlarged version of the technique of weaving something soft around a more stable structure. The top and bottom plane of the cabinet is held together by sticks kept together like a Windsor chair. Since first shown in Milan 2012, salone satellite, it has received a lot of attention worldwide.

The cabinet is made in three standard sizes, in birch or oak wood.

The natural finishes are treated with white pigmented hardwax oil. The black is stained black and treated with hardwax oil. The smoked oak is also treated with hardwax oil.

Lukas Dahlén

Lukas embarked on his educational journey at Uppsala University in Sweden where he dove into the aesthetics of art, only to find his true calling in the more tactile realm of fine art at the Cumbria College of Art and Design in the UK.

Deeply influenced by nature, he redefines 'form follows function,' seeing beauty as a core functionality. “The most functional and beautiful is found in nature,” he reflects. Lukas advocates for respectful material use, emphasizing, “Our challenge lies not in using nature, but in how we do it,” blending functionality with inherent elegance.
