Founder's Edit No. 02 | JANUARY

For Founder’s Edit No. 02, I’m sharing my top 5 for January: a film that lingers, an evening wellness ritual, a new favorite workout app, bedtime reading with my boys, and a thoughtfully chosen wardrobe piece meant to last.

Founder’s Edit No. 2 | JANUARY

After the holiday season begins to settle, January arrives with a different energy—quieter, slower, and more inward. It’s a month that invites reflection and planning for the year ahead, gratitude journaling, cozy movie nights, wellness practices, and the soft beginning of new rhythms.

To be honest, it takes me a minute to re-orientate after the holidays. The end of the year is such an acceleration, January feels like an exhale. After the holiday decorations are put back away, I try to use the month to organize my calendar, cook at home, kick start all the routines again, and get in bed early.

For Founder’s Edit No. 02, I’m sharing my top 5 for January: a film that lingers, an evening wellness ritual, a new favorite workout app, bedtime reading with my boys, and a thoughtfully chosen wardrobe piece meant to last.

1. Movie Night

After returning from an incredible holiday trip to Japan with my family, I found myself lingering in that feeling—wanting to stay connected to the simplicity, order, and beauty we experienced there. Perfect Days, directed by Wim Wenders, was a return cinematically. The film is a meditation on beauty, simple living, and finding quiet joy in everyday moments. Thoughtful, restrained, and deeply human—with a soundtrack now on my Spotify rotation.

2. New Wellness Ritual

As a Christmas gift to myself, I purchased the LumeBox red light after a recommendation from a close friend I turn to for all things wellness. It has quickly become a favorite part of my evening routine—and even the kid’s bedtime wind-down. The infrared red light combination is so warming after a day of skiing or sledding.

3. Winter Movement

The Fit with Coco app has become a steady part of my January homebody routine—offering approachable movement that supports strength, mobility, and feeling good in my body. It’s something I can return to regularly on cold days when I don’t feel like venturing out.

4. New Read

Evenings spent reading with my two boys remain one of our favorite nightly rituals. We’re currently immersed in Pax by Sara Pennypacker—a story that invites sweet conversation before sleep.

5. Wardrobe

I aim to keep a very minimal wardrobe—pieces I reach for daily and keep forever. Before the holidays, I did a thorough edit, selling, donating, and gifting what no longer felt aligned. From there, I made a short list of what was missing in my closet. After many hours of searching, I chose a black wool/cashmere overcoat from Rue Sophie for our trip to Japan. I love the weight, the quality, and the simplicity—it’s a timeless piece that will live in my closet for years. I have my eye on this jacket for spring.
